I am pretty sure, if Ollie could talk, the first thing out of his mouth would be a snappy one-liner. Even in his orneriness, he is just a funny cat. As he looked at me, wide-eyed and hanging from the top of his cage, his sense of humor was like an aura. There were several names on the table: Bob (ala BobCat, hubby is Ohio U alum), Sammy, and Reggie. Many cute names, but none really seemed to match him. Then a comical image dawned on me: Ollie! It met with resounding approval from all. Although lately, he is commonly referred to as "Dammit Ollie"!
"Hey, handsome...You lookin' at me? You lookin' at me?"
"I only have to stay on for 8 seconds, right?"
"Rub-A-Dub-Dub...one cat in the tub"
Just ONE of the reasons we are not putting a Christmas tree up this year!
"I think I can make it all the way to the top, as long as I dont look down!"
On a final note, Bella actually got her name back in 2002. Steve and I took a long weekend to Cincinnati back in July 2002, and ate a great restaurant named Bella. I just loved the way the word Bella sounds. I vowed right then, that if we ever had another dog, I would name her Bella.
Because of the vampire movies out lately, we get asked if she was named after the female lead. NO! - she was not!
