it made me laugh

And the chuckles were plentiful this trip! How many of you thought that my failure to post here in 17 days meant that I was probably sitting in a New Orleans jail...on a "drunken disorderly charge" for trying to earn some beads the hard way?
No such luck! The closest I came to getting some beads, was riding in a cab one night on Bourbon Street, headed to dinner - and some drunks threw beads AT the cab.
This visit was the hottest visit yet! It was hot! Africa hot! Every day was sunny and 90deg, with the complimentary humidity rate of 85%. It was hot...AND sticky! I don't care for the sticky.
I took 1,099 pictures. I am still editing, and have them reduced by half...still editing. So I'll break down the offerings into categories. Today's pictures are from the "It Made Me Laugh" files.

Here is THE first site I saw, after getting settled and heading up to the river. When I turned to see what all the commotion was about, weeellll...
I love how she is so non-chalant about "things", and he is flailing and screaming about it.
Hey - if I have a camera, I am gonna use it.
I loved the way this kid "owned" his haircut. Really, its pretty nice and balanced.
As an adult, I would love some of that freedom back.
The general layers of conflict made me snap this one. All the warnings, danger and ban on basic frivolity ...but yet, a mailbox. Wonder if Hallmark has a card for these folks?

See what fun you can have when you aren't inhibited by all the expectations of society...and fashion? I bet both of these next two guys had mohawks as children!

Don't ya think this is like the "mullet" of outfits? "Business on the top...party at the bottom". It was taken on a Monday morning, so I only assumed he was headed to the office.

And now...for Bourbon Street! Again, no - no beads. With this 150 lb camera hanging from my sunburned neck, there wouldn't have been room enough for beads.
Bourbon Street is NOT my favorite place. We usually don't even go there. But these two chuckles were originally seen from the cab ride (referenced above), so I went back in the morning to get these keepsakes.
And, don't ya just love the "To Go" option. Lovely enough, there is NO open container law in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Walk and drink. Walk and drink.

My very favorite was this treasure!
Oh, and what a bigger impact it had in the burning glow of neon!
Big Daddy must be a very important man! I would guess have big photos of ALL these "acts" posted right in the front window of your shop, probably clinches the famous part, too.
Conveniently, you can get a Big Ass Beer...To Go right across the street, when you are done!
In hind sight, I guess it was silly to have worried about wearing my white pants - after all, it WAS before Memorial Day.
