Our yard is probably one of my favorite places to be with my camera. All the planting, landscaping, and general garden maintenance has kept me from posting much here - although I do have some more vacation/zoo pics coming. With a little lull in the action, these are some things I chose:
You cant help but hear one of these coming! While we were standing in the driveway, taking pictures of the heavens, a car actually pulled over to ask what everyone was looking at. Apparently, the rest of the people he had just passed were also looking UP. We assumed this
MetLife blimp was heading to position for The Memorial Golf Tournament this week. I am amazed
(click for larger view) by this massive vehicle being "handled" by the small booth underneath, and those two wheels for landing.

On to the backyard...I have a big pot of this plant. Its real name is
Torenia, however, my less official reference is "that throaty flower". I just cant help but think it looks like someone singing a loud "
AAAAAHHH" note. (maybe if that someone had a purple face and two bucked teeth, it would be clearer).

While I sat taking pictures of the "singing throaty flower", here came a bee. Oh, they just don't hold still long enough, do they? He visited lots of blooms, and would completely disappear down inside the flower.
Mmm, must have been yummy!

I didn't realize I had this shot until I was editing, and was amazed you could see bits of pollen and water left on his legs and fur. Is it called
fur on a bee? (click for larger image)

And just because I love a good chipmunk shot...I imagine him saying, with his best
Deniro/chipmunk voice:
"You talkin' to me? You talkin' to ME?"

Tomorrow, we have scheduled the replacement of our "old" deck boards. Our house came with a 12 x 24 deck, to which we added onto a few years ago. Its just time to replace those boards...plus, I will be able to see what is under there and fix the "animal hole" that is too near the foundation. I'll share any thing fun I find.

Wow. I am in awe of your bee shots! Those little buggers are hard to capture! I love your throat flower, and can totally see the buck teeth.
