There's finally an "And..."

...and 1.

There are nine wins in front of it - but now, there is One.

That first "and one" always gets me. Don't get me wrong, I had no grandiose idea this would be an undefeated season. It just stings a little. Steve says I'd better get used to it. I will, however, make my post-season prediction public: I think OSU will make it to, at least, the Sweet 16.
We originally didn't have tickets for this game. This was the only non-conference game we didn't think we would see, but......one morning our phone rang. It was a guy from our gym offering us his tickets! He is a local doctor, and since word at the gym is that we love OSU bball (and not having WestVa tics), he called us. We normally have/buy pretty good seats for the games, but these were the best we've had. Ten rows up, and 12 seats off center.

Here is Tip-off.

Note about the picture: on the scorer's table, there is a Possession sign, with a guy in a black jacket sitting to the right. Behind him, there is a guy in a white shirt with white hair - this is our neighbor. Yeah, I think we need to be better friends with him. {click to enlarge}

This picture is why I sometimes take a hundred shots. This was during warm ups, and I was just clicking. The guy making this reverse lay-up is Dallas Lauderdale.

The row of seats at the top of this frame (and right above the ball), is another spot we sit sometimes. Steve's old boss has season tickets, and sells us all the games he cant go to. They are beside the tunnel area where the team comes in, I get shots there, too.

This picture includes something that I just don't understand. At the bottom right of the frame, you will see a couple. We call them The Knitters. Since we normally view them from the other side of the arena, we can see her.....knitting. This year, they both seem to be reading (or grading) papers, but I still don't get it. During every single break -timeout-halftime,etc., you will see them divert their attention to knitting/grading. What I don't understand is 1) if you are sitting ON the floor, why would you want to risk missing anything; and 2) how much work do you have, that you can make progress in 30/60 second intervals? If you have that much important work piling up, then maybe you should just stay home and get it done. I'd be happy to keep those seats occupied - attentively! I was also entertained by this pregame picture of the referee - since he spent the rest of the game with his head up his ass - unable to blow a whistle.
I warned you all in October, that basketball season was coming.....

Here is a little throw rug that I got at the Team Shop last week. Steve asked me where I was going to put it, and I jokingly told him "on the floor by my side of the bed, so it would be the first thing by feet hit every morning"! Really, its in the family room - until March.

Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas! We spent the whole entire day in our pajamas -- just lounging.

New Year's Eve has us - guess where? That's right, at an OSU ball game! Then on to dinner with friends. Now, if we can just stay awake until midnight, we'll be fine!
