This picture is of Pete. I mentioned him before (10/24/08 post). Believe me, he would not be very tolerant of all the neighborhood shenanigans, and do his best impression of "a dangerous dog".
Aside from all my "fun" and "happy" posts (which is what this blog is really about), I do take life a little more serious. So, for all my new national and international readers - you will get a mixture. I promise. Welcome!!!
Seriously, our neighborhood is in need of a Block Watch. As I might have mentioned before, we live in a very average neighborhood, that never used to have problems - except for the occasional neighbor who might not treat their lawn for dandelions. This is one of the reasons we chose to live here. But, as time goes by, we are being affected. Last week, there were two home invasion burglaries - we sit right between them. So, when we saw the police's (very well hidden) advertisement in the paper, "How to start a Block Watch" meeting, we were there!
My first disappointment was the fact that NOBODY from the recently affected neighborhoods were there! How can you bitch and complain about a problem, but not be willing to step-up and take part in the solution? (Karma is watching) It will be interesting to see if there is any interest in neighbors protecting themselves.
This might be one of our first Retirement projects - at least between all of our Wii golf & bowling matches. Tonight is OSU basketball season opener at the old St. Johns Arena. OMG, I just wondered...does Wii make a basketball game?
