Rainy Days and Fridays

When your day starts at the dentist, it can only get better from there, right? One good thing about living in Newark, is that we are 30 mins from everything fun/good/interesting.
On this rainy cool day, after our semi-annual dental appointments, Steve and I headed to McCormick and Schmick's for lunch. This is one of our favorite places to eat, and it also happens to be in Easton Center, which is where......................................
the new Tiffany & Co. opened on Friday! Yes, I will walk in the rain to Tiffany's. But, I wonder, if having something I find special, 30 minutes from my front door, will be diminished - by being 30 minutes from my front door. Hmmm....
The picture here, is of the latest Christmas ornaments we bought. Steve and I started a few years ago, collecting the ornaments, and have a special tree for them. Have you ever heard the line in the Christmas song, Santa Baby..."come and trim my Christmas tree, with decorations bought at Tiffany".

And for an additional treat - 'cause you can never have enough treats - we stopped in Godiva. A delicious hot cocoa will warm any soul. If they just made it into an IV drip, I could die happy. If you get a chance, stop in to have one - they really are worth the calories. Then these little truffles caught my eye. How adorable is this? Flavored as Pumpkin Pie, I was mostly intrigued by the packaging. {I still haven't eaten it yet}
So, next time you are bumming at a dreary day, do something special for yourself - even if it is just one piece of special chocolate.
