Falling autumn

This is the view from my Mom's front door.

Yesterday, the sun was headed down in the sky, and lit up the hillside. It was much prettier last week, but I never seem to have my camera with me at the right time.

The second picture is a view down their street. As I took these, I realized how much I really do like the landscape of Ohio - or at least the area where we live. The hills aren't too severe, and it isn't bone flat. I think that's one of the reasons I could never live in Fla. Its just so flat! However, I am sure I will have a completely different opinion come January - sitting in a foot of snow or -20 degrees. One of the things on my Christmas list is a newer camera. When I got this one back in 2005, I had never used digital, and was not very good at photography, so I wanted to ease into it. Digital is the best way to learn about lighting/exposure/etc. If you screw up a shot, so what, just delete it. But now, I need a little more exposure control and much more zoom. Zoom is goooood! Especially with OSU Basketball starting one week from today! That's right - this time next Thursday, my fanatic, arm-waving, screaming self will be cheering the new group onto the floor. Oooo, I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

Today, Mom and I shopped for, and assembled, the baskets for Baskets of Life. Last month, I took some pictures and described the program. The monthly attendance is appx 40 people, however, last month we had 80! I couldn't believe it when I pulled into the church lot and there was the huge line!. I imagine this is a true sign of the times. So, now we shop for 80. It took us 1/2 hour just to unload her SUV (even though Steve and I had already taken a big laundry load last week), and two additional hours to fill all the Baskets. But, this is a good tired!
